___ two-week supply of prescription medicines

___ two-week supply of non-perishable/special dietary foods

___ drinking water/containers: 1 gallon per person, per day (minimum of 3 days)

___ flashlights and (seven sets) batteries for each member of the family

___ portable radio and (seven sets) batteries

___ mosquito repellent and citronella candles

___ fire extinguisher (small canister, ABC type)

___ first-aid book and kit, including bandages, antiseptic, tape, compresses, aspirin and non-aspirin pain reliever, anti-diarrhea medication, antacid, syrup of Ipecac (used to induce vomiting if advised by the Poison Control Center)

___ instant tire sealer

___ whistle and/or distress flag

___ two coolers (one to keep food; one to go get ice)

___ plastic tarp, screening, tools and nails, etc.
